The images in this gallery showcase Wyoming, South Dakota, Utah, and Arizona. The beauty of the western areas of the United States is unique, and the sparsely populated areas allowed many opportunities for me to photograph varied scenes during the nighttime hours. The level of light pollution west of the Mississippi River is minimal (outside of major cities), which is helpful in photographing the Milky Way and night sky.
